The project

THE EXECUTIVE PROJECT WILL DEVELOP IN MULTIPLE PHASES.

The first phase began in March 2019 with the purchase of a large piece of land and obtaining a permit to build some lodgings, more precisely 4 stilt tents, 6 wooden tents and 2 A-Frame houses, as well as toilet facilities. This phase will be completed by February 2021.

The definition of the name "GaYa - Mondo di Unione" the logo in all its nuances and the brand for the production of oil was also reached as well as the creation of this website. The attention and importance of the place, and the territorial context on which it lies, has made it possible to seek agreements with the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria as part of an eco-sustainable design project.

Works on the land have already started taking place. An entrance was created and the partial pruning of the many olive trees that had been abandoned by years of neglect. Cleaning and redefinition of internal communication roads has been carried out (about 6km of roads) in addition to the provisional arrangement of the building defined as "badia".

The second phase (February 2021 - February 2024)

  • Creation of a dedicated salao for activities such as, yoga, meditation etc. (in the meantime one of the two houses will be used)
  • Total restructuring of the "abbey": due to the lack of solid foundation and the current state of disrepair we have chosen to demolish and reconstruct this building respecting its' original character in every aspect.
  • Demolition and reconstruction of an old building to be used as a common kitchen
  • Beginning of the construction of the ecovillage to host the people who will accompany GaYA's journey for short or long periods
  • Restoration of the old oil mill with integration of a transformation laboratory
  • Realization of a cherry grove
  • Realization of a foodforest
  • Start of production of the chestnut grove
  • Purchase of agricultural equipment and means of transport

The third phase (by 2030)

  • Construction of the temple for prayer and meditation open to all traditions
  • Expansion of the ecovillage
  • Construction of the phytodepuration pond
  • Bamboo forest realization

Starting from May 2021, it will already be possible to foresee various kinds of art installations, the implementation of micro and macro interventions and projects managed by those who choose to use their passion and love for a specific activity.

The speed with which this project will take shape will also depend on the external and internal help that can be obtained.
